herc usually sees snowmaking in late jan/early feb, usually one of the last to open. they want to get a base made before going on a trail only for experts. hydrants are on zeus and they put hoses through the woods. sometimes when the winter is good they make snow on zeus too. with the incredible cold forecasted for the next week+ we actuslly may se snowmaking on both of them soon. they have only one hydrant on olympian and its at the top of the headwall. on good snow years in the past, theyll make a huge whale and let the skiers spread it out.

I agree herc and Zeus need more care. However, it is hard to believe the nice conditions today and nobody there. Not a lot open as they are piling snow on several trails. 10-15 degrees is not prohibitive skiing weather. New owners are doing nice job.

The quad is fast it's just cause all beginning skiers avoid chair 1 cause it can't slow down for them but on the other hand the quad can. Also for younger kids it is usually hard to get on. People under estimate the quad chair when really it's a great thing

One reason they can't blow snow on Hercules Zeus and Olympian is because they are two steep most of the snow makers would obviously roll down the hill
