Full review

Skied Gore with hard pack and 7 new inches. The mountain has great variety of trails, but not all terrain was open even though snow looked good. Beginner trails are not as good as Whiteface kids campus. Stayed locally in Chestertown at a great bed and breakfast (Landon Hill) that accepts kids and has a great hot tub. Best of all they are adjacent to a free town sledding hill with a rope tow and skating rink. Several very good restaurants in Chestertown and one in North Creek (near mountain) we liked. Liked snowshoeing into wilderness pond with kids - not too many places you can have amazing skiing within a short drive from the city and explore a wilderness park like you can here.
