Great mountain, 1 of my favorites within driving distance to NYC, though its around 4 hours. Still very worth it if you can get 3 or more people together. The lift ticket is about $75 at the window but you can get great deals at the beginning of season sales, or someone selling them on craigslist.
There's a nice gondola ride up to the top. Some of the lifts are too slow and inconvenient. There's a few trails that dont have the best path to them from the lift. This place is affliated with Whiteface Lake Placid, so you can get deals if you buy specials or a season pass.
The elevation is very high up, so even though the snow was melting at the base, the powder was still plentiful up on the summit.
Lastly, I'd say remember that the pro of this place being a bit further from NYC than Hunter and Windham, is that the resort is way less crowded and if you are into that (who isnt) then this place is ideal. I really dont like crowded resorts, so this was a big plus for me.
