My family and I have been skiing at Catamount now for 12 years. Overall, it's a great mountain for families. The pluses are the ski school, particularly for kids (our kids started when they were 3 and have become great skiers); improvements in lifts over the years (the new quad is great); efforts to accomodate kids (terrain parks for snowboarders are a hit!) and finally pricing, particularly if you get a season pass before the season. The biggest complaint I have is the dining facilities - the main lodge is essentially a crowded school cafeteria. People basically take over the available tables all day and use them as dumping areas for equipement and bags. Its practically impossible to find a table if you just come in for lunch. The resort needs to enforce discipline and ask people not to use tables as personal lockers. The food is also very limited to basics - pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs...it would be nice to see something vaguely healthy on the menu. The food in the "restaurant" has also deteriorated over the past two years.
