I grew up skiing at Brantling, practiced and raced during high school, learned to ride a left-handed rope tow. Back then it was a small family owned ski area. The rest rooms were out house building in the parking lot. No fancy cafeteria. We brought PB&J and hot choclate. Brantling was probably one of the first in the area that had an "out of bounds" area, where we built our own ski jump.
Most importantly, Brantling is a small family friendly area that is still afforable.
It produced an Olympic champion skier: Diane Roffe-Steinrotter. I had the pleasure of skiing with her growing up and her husband "Willie". "Fifi" Steinrotter was the most amazing racing coach I have ever met. He started us young.
So enjoy the small, friendly place. Plus I hear, the rest rooms are inside and flush!
