The thing that makes Bellayre great is the Tomahawk ski area. This stand alone section of the mountain boasts 13 slopes and trails with a quad lift, parking. and lift ticket sales. I park here and swing over to Superchief for the morning . When the lift lines get absurd by noon I shift back to Tomahawk for the rest of the day. No lift line at all. The reason for no lift line has nothing to do with the quality of the skiing. The Tomahawk area has no lodge facility, not even a catering truck. Bathroom facilities are limited to 2 porto-potties. One of them is pad locked and reserved for the use of staff. The other is usually overflowing and unusable. I would be quite happy with one of those bathroom faciliies in a trailer that you usually see at festivals. I'm used to not being able to sit down to eat in the lodge because the lodge was built for a much smaller ski area, Management also makes no attempt to keep the seating area free of peoples luggage so that even tables where nobody is sitting are still unusable because they are piled high with peoples stuff. We always brown bag it and eat in the car. I love the fact that the trails aren't lined with private homes and condos.
