Full review

I'm an intermediate female skiier and ski only in the East. Belleayre is an easy place to reach from NYC, and often has surprisingly better snow than nearby ski areas. It's less crowded or hectic than Hunter and Mountain Creek, which makes it safer on the trails, I think, on busier days in the season when those places might be full of snowboarders. Belleayre has several discount days each year, which is becoming rare. I find it relaxing and fun. I'm sorry that an earlier reviewer had an indoor injury, but I've had similar events at other ski resorts. I've also gone hiking year-round on the cross-country trails which are free. I've stayed at a few places in nearby Fleischmann's and further north, some dumpy/interesting, and some very nice. My goal was to save money. As for food, there are some excellent restaurants in Pine Hill, right nearby. I could go on, but I'll just say that Belleayre sort of feels like home base for me in the Catskills.
