Ski Apache is fine for beginner to intermediate skiing. The snow is good when it snows and when it doesn't they do have good snow making abiltiy, but on very few runs. Most of the runs are the same so you can get bored quickly.

During the really busy times the crowds can be terrible and lift lines take forever. You have to constantly watch out for inexperienced skiers/boarders if you don't want to be used as a stopping point. Ski patrol does not do much in the way of safety control.

The staff is helpful and the ski instructors are good. For budget skiing, especially families, this ski area is affordable.

The drive to and from the ski area is not fun and very difficult/dangerous if snowing. I do not think there was a plow on the road the whole month I was there. Have your 4 wheel drive or chains on the bad days and do not stop in the middle of the road to put chains on.
