Friendly staff, not pretentious
Mostly intermediate to advanced runs
This was my first trip to Red River and my wife's first time skiing ever. All I can say is we should have went somewhere else as it was far too challenging for her. There are some fun green runs but they are at the top of the mountain and there is no easy way to get down from there. The so called "easiest way down," shown as a green on the trail map would probably more accuately be labled a blue in several sections (it does intersect several black and blue runs). Even the lift operator told us it was "quite steep" in parts. If you're a beginner I would definitely look elsewhere. However, if you are at least an intermediate skier I would recommend Red River. The staff was very friendly and I got a great deal on my tickets. Also, I really like the town with its relaxed atmosphere.
