Terrain Parks, High speed lifts , Awesome weather
Not Enough Snow, Not much advanced terrain
I've gone to Angel Fire a couple times a year. It's not my favorite mountain in the area but it's always a good time. The terrain parks are excellent, very well maintained, with an exclusive lift for the bigger one, and a bar / cafe at the top . There are usually a couple lines of jumps from smallish to 40 foot booters , with some good rails and jibs as well. The smaller park is a blast too with a ton of different lines. Last year it was setup beneath the bigger park on the backside for laps all day. Apart from the parks, the terrain at Angel Fire is not great. There are a few good tree runs and alot of long cruisers but not much for steeps or drops. Good for beginners . The snow is spotty in some seasons but the weather is usually great. High speed lifts are a nice bonus. The mountain is naturally laid out well and is basically serviced by two high speed quads. Definitely the most modernized "resort" type mountain in the state. Good mountain for mellow rides and vacationers.. not so much for the hardcore types.
