Snowcat and grooming operations is a big bizz for most ski resorts these days. With each snowcat costing in the ballpark of $230,000,00, an diesel usage rite around 8 gallons an hour$$, not to mention what youre paying the "operator". Places like Beaver Creek, Crested Butte, Deer Valley, Red River monitor there grooming operations quite close too insure quality and to maintain cost. Angel Fire has some of the best equipment, but it sure doesnt show in there runs an trails. The problem is due too, poor management , and under-qualified snowcat "operators". So remember when you buy a lift ticket, you get what you pay for!!! Dont help another ski resort waste more money, thats why some resorts next season ticket is always increasing , to make up for that lost profit, that they ended up wasting in there other operations. Suggested ski resorts in the area are, Red River,Taos, Sipapu, Ski Santa Fe.
