We skied at Waterville on a snowy Monday and were surprised to find it was empty. The problem was that it was wet snow making for not the easiest conditions to ski in. It was difficult to turn and it was very tiring, more than usual anyway. But what was really nice were the two-for-one lift tickets which saved a lot of money. The high speed lifts made quick access to most of the relatively small mountain. Like most mountains on the east coast, Waterville was a good intermediate mountain with good cruisers off White Peak Express and a good beginner area off the Quadzilla Lift. True Grit did provide some steepness although it is short lived because the trail is short. The are i thought was very good was the High Country are because there was untouched snow even at the end of the day and it was wide open with room to maneuver. Overall, Waterville was a good cruising mountain with an occasional challenge.
