Extremely family friendly, amazing mountain views, good food, many outdoor adventures to choose from.
Small atmoshere may not suit all
Waterville Valley has been a vacation destination for my family for over 25 years! With a superb learn to ski/ride program, individuals of all ages and abilities will be content. I first learned to ski at age 31/2 and recently learned how to snowboard at WV. An ample variety of trail types from beginer to expert. Offering a variety of 5 terrain parks to match one's own skill level, expensive, but varied mountain eats, and helpful staff. With a cozy village at the bottom of the slopes, skiers and riders may find their way to the athletic club, indoor ice arena, sleigh rides, nordic skiing, snow shoeing, or at one of the Valley's 5 or so off-mountain restaurants. A wide variety of inns and lodges to choose from for any size group. Amenities include: year round swimming pools, year round village shuttle/trolley, wireless internet access at center of town, video rental, book/toy store, arcades/game rooms, general store in town, and only a 15 minute drive to I-93. Some cons: This is a family resort that is very different from a city. For example: an evening in the Valley might be spending time in the hot tub at the athletic club after a day on the slopes, followed by a dinner at one of the local restaurants, and ending with a book infront of the fire at your lodge. This is not a party town, nor will illicit behavior be tolerated by the towns strict public safety department. If you are looking for an adults only vacation destination or you aren't a fan of the outdoors then this is not your place. Also when entering and exiting the resort on Route 49 use caution while obeying all speed limits as they will change abruptly and police patrol is regular around the resort.
