Pat's Peak is a small place but has a lot going for it. The range of easy slopes makes it a perfect place to learn or to re-find your legs if it's been a few years. It's rarely crowded and so lift lines are not an issue. It's inexpensive and offers both morning and afternoon half-days so you can get in a few hours without breaking the bank. From Boston, it's barely an hour-and-a-half, so city people can head out in the morning, get a decent number of runs in, be back after lunch and have spent about $35. All in all, not a bad option.
