Mount Sunapee is a day trip worth taking. The mountains is modest in size -- 1,510 foot vertical, but has a nice old-timey New England feel, some good intermediate terrain off the summit, and a group of short tough trails served by the North Peak Triple. Make the most of what Sunapee offers by arriving early and skiing the summit off the Sunapee Express high speed quad, then move over to the Sun Bowl, and head home in mid afternoon, when the trail cover starts to show wear and tear. Dress warmly, as the mountain rises solo in Central New Hampshire and there's nothing to cut the north wind that can make the upper mountain really bitter. The lodge is filled with Sunapee regulars.
