this review is for trip in march 2010... I know kinda late but i still wanted to let everyone know what a great place this was to ski. I have 2 daughters age now 16 and 13 so last year this happened but still great. The lower level slopes offered a good place to start from the year off from skiing we had experienced.
The grooming was impeccable and the views stunning with the White Mtn off in the distance and Mt Washington Hotel with its hot RED roof spectacular against the white snow covering.. man that was great.
both girls enjoyed the slopes with easy to access lines. I enjoyed the many diverse slopes that we could all ski down and with a bit of planning long trips from top to bottom with a couple stops along the way to regroup.
the lodge was the wifes favorite from the week.. we had gone to waterville valley couple day prior and also to Loon Mtn.
All in all a great ski area just to far from NC.. its a 13 hr drive to Ashland NH, where we were staying at Cold Springs Resort, a timeshare place in the area. They offered a free bus to Waterville Valley and Bretton Woods during the week so that was an added bonus.. The trip were planned to waterville on tue which was kids ski free day and thur to bretton woods during the buy one get one lift ticket day there.. Loon was a side trip and very nice as well..
If you are in the area go to bretton woods you will LOVE it..
