Hi, I've skiing around Tahoe this winter, and I found Diamond Peak to be a nice option in the area. It's small and that can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. Usually is not as crowded as Mt. Rose and you will no have problem parking (but youmay need to take the tram) If you go on a holliday weekend, it will be full of people, just as Mammoth, Squaw or other. Normal weekend is allright. weekdays are just for you.

Terrain is OK, with 1 green run and few blues and some blacks. This winter they have more ungrommed runs than last year, which are normally all open for the moguls-non-challenged. A couple of blues are very fun, including the 1.0 mile lenght down from the top...great flume?

Views are incredible, weather is usually better than the other side of the hill (less windy, temperature a couple of deg higher), they just renew the base lodge, but I will recommend you to go to the lake view lodge instead. It's less expensive and a good place to learn.

Snow wasn't good in Jan, and that was true ll the resorts around Tahoe. I ended going to Mammoth just for a change. So, you have to put in perspective the reviews about the snow and crowds, especially when they are made when the resort was closed.
