Pros: great vertical, adult and kid ski schools, excellent staff

Cons: flat, upper mtn can be windy, cold, icy

Learned to ski here in mid 70's, always come here to start season, ski in summer on Palmer. Kids also learned to ski here in SkiWee program. Weather can be bad, but have upgraded lifts so lines are short, and upper mountain rides in bad weather are too. Great ski schools, children and adults. Given terrain, surprisingly good racing instruction. Great atmosphere and food in Timberline lodge, good food and great family atmosphere in Wy'east lodge: which is to say, huge numbers of families, getting in and out of lodge in semi-chaotic but successful efforts. Best runs are off palmer lift in summer, Molly's lift and then molly's run in the winter. Can get some groomed, ungroomed, very short off-piste pitches on this . Also wy'east: very short ungroomed run, interesting slalom course for j-12's.
