Timberline lodge has a massive vertical, but, it is flat. The best terrain is high up on the mountain, off the palmer lift near 9000 ft. this is great in the summer, but is closed in the winter, and the next higest lift, the magic mile, is not running very much in the winter because of storms. With those two lifts closed, there is no longer a large vertical, but a small, flat terrain full of greens and blues. the advantage to timberline is, that if your not an advanced skiier or don't want to hit the steeps, there is generally less people at timberline then the other two mountain hood ski areas.
