Whitefish Mountain Resort is a great mountain! The people are friendly and easy going. The town has managed to retain it's old character while still being a vibrant downtown with lots of shops and restaurants. It's is just a couple of miles from the lifts with lodging and restaurants in town and at the resort. The locals always offer up suggestions and share knowledge when asked.
I'm an intermediate skier and have lots of fun skiing off of the summit of the mountain in any direction. There's terrain for everyone and plenty of terrain to keep you making fresh tracks all week.
It snows a lot so you can expect snow clouds hanging into the upper half of the mountain at some point during your stay but the lower lifts tend to stay below the clouds and still cover a lot of terrain.
The snowfall is big and fluffy and you'll usually find "snowghosts" at the top of the mountain in January and February.
Views of Glacier National Park and Canada's Rocky Mountains are amazing and breathtaking.
