Big Mountain is usually free of crowds--especially during the weekdays. The skiing is quality stuff--during the heart of the season--BUT the south facing slopes in thr spring (March and April) get icy at night and slushy during the day. One other caution--The local's nickname for the Mtn is "Big Fog"--There are many days where you can't see you hand in front of your face--so check out the conditions before driving up the winding 7 mile road. Nothing to do in the "vilage" at night but the great town of whitefish is only 15 minutes away by car and lots to do there.
