We found our mountain approx, 8 years ago on a last minute deal. Our hotel named on arrival, turned out to be Grouse Mountain Lodge, probably the nicest hotel in our opinion, though there are many good ones. First time we'd been to USA, previous two years Banff, otherwise Europe. Two weeks and we're hooked! Return the following two years, staying at the Grouse. Following year buying a home at Ptarmigan Village. The mountain is beautiful, approx 4000 acres, stunning views, good runs catering for all. You want Powder there's lots of it! See the Snow Ghosts! Over the years we've seen a lot of development some good, some not so good. Locals will tell you, ' they are trying to make it another Aspen', we hope not, though nothing against Aspen. We just fell 'in love' with the mountain, at any time of year, generally trying to make at least 2/3 visits per year. This snow we're going for 3 months ski, how lucky are we! Whitefish is a quaint town, approx 6mls from ski village, free snowbus, couldn't wish for more, restaurants, bars, shops, everything you need and probably the nicest friendliest people ever. We can't wait to get back there, home!
