It's coming down! A couple inches predicted overnight - first flakes a bit wet this afternoon, but were filling in the bare patches and the hard pan. Morning was firm to icy. Afternoon pretty good, considering - loose snow atop hard.
Not sure what everyone is complaining about, great spring conditions! Just got back from two days on the hill. Snow was soft, but fast and there are still lots of gems to be found. Stick to the back side, you'll be fine. We'll definitely be back next year!
Skied today for the 104th time this season at Big Sky. Had a fabulous time. Early morning firm conditions but fun and basically rock free. Afternoon a different kind of fun carving like a hero in soft snow. Can't Wait for tomorrow. Planning on 130 days and snow is in the forecast!
forecastfor Monday and Tuesday.
Had a great week here! Lucky to have the snow pile up on Tuesday and Wednesday! But by Friday the snow was turning wet and hard to ski. The backside of the mountain was fantastic, especially the Bigfoot T-Bar! Was my favorite thing on the mountain. Overall pretty good week!
Skied today and the last 4 days. Very firm and icy in the mornings and extremely slushy in the afternoons. Lots of bare spots and rocks. You can still ski but it's not enjoyable. It's hard to imagine that it will hold out another week or two. It feels just about over for the season.
Really depends on when and where you ski. A lot of expert terrain is closed or limited. Groomers are in good shape but you have to catch them at the right time - they go from hard to soft in a couple hours. Really important to follow the sun to get the best of a very below par year.
You'll have to be crazy to come out here. Currently it's raining, the snow is packed and wet, even in the trees. Snow sucks you under but hey if you're looking to brush up on your surfing skills then this is your place. Left at 11:30am
