Moonlight Basin Overview

Moonlight Basin

It starts, as they like to say, with their terrain. Tucked into a nicely aligned section of the Rocky Mountains, Moonlight Basin's elevation and northern exposure make it possible for the 400 inches of dry, light snow they get in the course of a year to stay around a bit longer. The terrain includes gentle trails and nicely groomed cruisers to hair-raising chutes. Montana’s only high-speed, six-passenger chairlift - Six Shooter - and up to 5,512 acres of terrain spanning Lone Peak Pass, make it easy to dodge the crowds.

One hour south of Bozeman, Montana in Big Sky, the area opened for skiing in 2003. Moonlight Basin has grown into a first-class, year-round destination resort.
