Pros: Good snowfall, good terrain and vertical, tree skiing, inexpensive

Cons: Slow lifts, two lifts to top, southern exposure, low base elevation, crowds

Snowbowl gets good consistent snow every year, but the southern exposure and low base elevation can make for variable conditions in the early season and spring. Its close proximity to Missoula and the U of MT means crowded powder days, but the nightlife in Missoula makes it a good trade off.
