Lost trail is one of the few remaining old time ski areas left. Lift tickets are less than 35 bucks and you can usually get lodging and lift ticket packages at nearby Lost trail hot springs (<5 miles from hill) or Jackson Hot springs in the big hole valley (approx. 30 miles away) for under 60 bucks a person which usually includes breakfast in the morning.
Plenty of challenging terrain if you are willing to search it out, as well as nice crusers if you like those too. Ski in two states in the same day, heck the same run if you want to while here as well. Given the remote location of Lost Trail, they are only open Thurs-Sun which allows for remote monitoring of the weather in the area. You can let the stoms pile up Sun night through Wed night then show up on Thursday for the goods, it really lets you plan ahead rather than have to jump out of bed and hit the road on the spot. A good option is to show up late Wed night and camp out in one of the nearby trail heads.
