Wide variety of terrain, Never very crowded
Lack of snowfall
If you mission is to actually ski or snowboard and not whine about food service or a lack of after hours hook up activity -AKA- "Nightlife" then discovery is perfect. Disco is definitely is one of my favorite (actually, probably my favorite) mountains in Montana. In other words, no frills...but....terrain that truly spans from "absolute beginner" to "absolute expert". The staff is laid back and cool to say the least and ticket prices are waaay cheap....No pain in the a** tourists standing in the middle of the groomers and plenty of STEEEEP challenging runs!
