Blacktail offers a unique experience of parking at the top on the ski area and skiing downhill from there. The north facing slopes are generally well covered all season long, though sometimes snow is slow to arrive near the bottom in December. The terrain is well suited for beginner and intermediate skiers. Grooming is excellent and done a little too often for me. Only really one bump run (Bad Rock) and some nice glades (Powder Glade) make the terrain a bit limited for expert skiers. Families and intermediates skier will love this small ski area.
