Great powder, very long open steeps, mostly no lift lines; electronic boards clearly showing which lifts/trails are open
Signage sometimes lacking or unclear; tram lines can get quite long

Visited Big Sky with Columbia Ski Club (of Maryland) on February 16-20, 2014. Weather wasn't great - quite windy every day, with blizzard conditions and zero visibility at the summit 2 of the 4 days I skied. The mountain is huge, with an amazing variety of terrain. Some of the very attractive areas I only managed to make 1-2 runs off in 4 days. My favorite runs - everything from the summit (Lenin, Marx, Dictator Chutes, Gullies); almost everything, but especially the 17th Green trail, off Challenger lift; great soft moguls off Thunder Wolf lift. Unfortunately some of the best chairlifts (Challenger, Shedhorn) are really slow and stop a lot or even get shut down in the wind, but this is a very minor issue compared to the quality of skiing.
