Saturday I went to Wild Mountain for the day. I go every year at the same time for their big Ski & Snowboard demo. Last year was bitter cold, with only one run open...but man, what a difference a year makes!

This year, the weather was gorgeous...sunny and 35...and there was way more than one run open. To be exact, there were all buy 6 open! Wild was plenty busy, but since they did have so much terrain open, you could barely tell. The snow was great as well...aided by the weather, surely...nice and soft in most spots. It was almost as if you couldn't tell that it was November and that there's been zero natural snow fall.

The demo was great, but Wild always does an awesome job with their demos...plenty of vendors to try out, and a great layout as well. Lift ticket prices weren't obscene either, so it was perfect! $10 plus a lift ticket for trying out equipment all year is a helluva deal.

Wild Mountain was making snow all day as well where they put their terrain park, and they were finishing up the last few runs they need to cover as well. So don't be surprised when they are 100% open!

The temporary park on the beginner hill has about 8 features, including a wall ride.

Tip: The best snow is on Wild and on Challenger.
