Spent the weekend of April 11th at Lutsen, all I can say is wow! what a way to end the season, have never had better weather up there, the snow got slushy by the afternoon but they had a great base so it was ok, how can you beat skiing over bridges of rushing spring fed rivers, beautiful views of lake superior, bald eagles flying overhead, super convenient lodging at a decent price (stayed at Caribou Highlands, they had good end of year rates) and it is nice that Lutsen keeps updating every year, remodeling the restaurants, lodge rooms etc. now when you stay on site they even print your lift tickets out for you when you check in at Caribou Highlands saving you the hassle of going to get them in the morning, the only thing missing was a high speed comfy lift. Will try to get up there more often next year!!!! Not sure about the nightlife, too tired from the great skiing to check it out.
