Afton's the best area within 15 miles of the Twin Cities. It's usually crowded but it has decent variety and decent size. The grooming usually isn't that great but it works.

If you don't want to drive far, this is a good place to go. If you can stand a longer drive, hit up Welch Village, Spirit Mountain, or Lutsen instead!
