Very friendly - I turned up a little over an hour before close (hadn't reckoned on the time zone shift from Chicgo), they had me kitted up and on the slopes in 10 minutes. Very friendly.
For non-sliiers, it is great because you drive in at the top of the resort, with the lodge and other buildings there. Slopes go down into the valley - one thing Michigan is not short of is snow.
As an international visitor, I would not recommend coming all this way for skiing, but if you are in Chicago area, definitely worth a visit (maybe combined with the other resorts nearby: Bittersweet and Timberline), and definitely combined with a vist to Amish/Mennonite country just over the border in Indiana.
