In Good Company. SCR is once again among the Who's Who in the golf world. From the Links current cover story, The New Meccas:
"With dozens of courses dropped into glacier-carved terrain in the state’s northwest corner near Traverse City, golf has transformed a region known for cherry orchards, fudge stores, and taxidermists into the heartland’s best getaway. Players can mix and match multi-course resorts (Boyne Highlands, Shanty Creek, Treetops, Grand Traverse, etc.) with stand-alone 18s while enjoying excellent value, genuine hospitality, and extended daylight (a second round, anyone?)."
This past Saturday, skiers and snowboarders solicited pledges based on how many laps (chairlift ride up, then ski/snowboard down) they could take during a 6 hour timeframe on the Pink Chairlift at Schuss Mountain.
Over $2000 was raised for the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising activity for the Antrim County Relay for Life.
Liz Torkelson of Midland won a 2014/15 SCR Season Pass for completing the most laps with 88 laps. Reid MacWilliams of Clarkston, MI won a 2014/15 SCR Season Pass with the most money pledged, and Brooklynn Clark, our youngest participant at 8 years old won a gift certificate to Lucky Jacks for her efforts!
