12 inches of snow and this horrible place can not keep their lifts running. They claimed they had a power out that wasn't their fault, (Or more likely their power system was so dilapidated it could not handle real weather), even though the condo I stayed in was 100 yards away from the main building and never lost power. What kind of rinky-dink piece of crap resort does not have a back-up power system capable of running the lifts? The Summit hill was running(1/5 the size of Schuss/Cedar River) but it was so packed because Schuss was sending everyone there. The lift operators at Summit did not maintain the lifts. At both of the lifts, ( there are two two-man lifts at this bunny hill) you are dragged through 20 yards of slush after you sit on the chair because no one has removed the built up snow and ice that falls off of skis and snowboards. At the top of both lifts the run-offs were nothing but deep ruts and ice. Here's a friendly suggestion for the resort, invest in your infrastructure and train your employees so the next sucker who gets lured to your resort is not let down in such a HUGE way. A tip for the Michigan vacationer, AVOID SHANTY CREEK RESORTS AT ALL COSTS.
