Nubs offers a good mix of terrain, and the lifts and trails are about as well designed as it gets - very minimal skate-skiing to get to lifts. The blue terrain is steeper and better than neighboring Boyne Highlands'. The Pintail Peak area is easy to get to and very popular with families/kids - almost all of the runs in that section are rolling blue cruisers. The best intermediate terrain is actually on the front side, with Valley, Smooth Sailing, and Birch Run all offering decent pitch. The black terrain is comparable to Boyne, but with better variety (3 solid groomers, 2 bumpers, and half-a-dozen glades/trees) - Smokey, Scarface, and Chute are all good for carving/racing practice, and you can test your mogul skills on Goose Bumps before stepping up to Twilight Zone (though Goose Bumps gets crusty quite often).
