    Downhill skiing is still good at the major ski resorts in northwest Lower Michigan – thanks to snowmaking. It hasn't been the greatest winter on record, but Boyne Mountain, Crystal Mountain and Nubs Nob plan on remaining open through April 8; weather permitting of course.     Big Powderhorn, located on the western end of Michigan's UP, celebrates Easter on the slopes. Normally with plenty of snow left on the slopes over Easter, Powderhorn celebrates the holiday with skiing, boarding, and, what else, an Easter egg hunt; at least they don't toss them. Full Article

    The ski season isn't over until the snow bar melts. Or at least that's how the timing usually works at Indianhead in Michigan's UP where the outside snow bar with its two bartenders has become a popular springtime feature, lasting until the area closes in early April. Full Article

    Crystal Mountain celebrates its 50th anniversary March 18-22 with lodging rates from just $50 per unit, per night or a ski package starting at $50 per adult, per night; package includes one night's lodging and next day lift ticket.     Nubs Nob celebrates its annual Mardi Gras spring fling on Saturday, March 24 with zany games and fun for all.
