Extreme skiing, steep terrain, tree skiing, getting away from it all
Some may not like the bare-bones facilities, long drive
Mount Bohemia was as advertised, not for beginners. Much of the terrain is like out of bounds skiing out west, with a bit shorter runs. It was extreme with drops, rocks, trees, dangers, and find your own path but that's what I was looking for on the three days I was there. There are only two chair lifts and they typically only run one on weekdays. Many of the north and backside runs take you down to a road where a bus will pick you up and take you back to the start. The wait for the bus was never more than 10 minutes or so. I've been skiing for about 30 years and have skied all over North America, yet Bohemia tested my abilities at times. They even offer some triple black diamond runs if you so desire.
