We've been visiting the Crystal Mtn area every year for the past 18 years with our group of Cincinnati skiiers, and always have a great time. Most of our group are primarily XC skiiers who enjoy the groomed trails at the resort along with nearby ungroomed trails at Sleeping Bear Dunes & along the Betsy River. Some of us also spend a day or 2 downhilling at the resort and enjoy a greater variety of terrain, and certainly alot more snow, than at our local ski area in SE Indiana. It's worth the 8-hr drive for us every year. Lift tickets are kind of pricey, especially since they now sell the Friday tickets on President's Day weekend at the holiday rate instead of the regular weekday rate they used to sell them for! We've found local vacation home rentals a few miles away from the resort at much more affordable rates than what it costs around Boyne or Traverse City.
