Skied both Boyne Highland and Nubs Nob in the same weekend. Nubs seemed to have the better snow but the Highlands had the longer trails. The snow at the Highlands was okay, they seemed to focus on the main runs but not on the fringe runs, the south runs which are easy to intermediate were icy and not well groomed when we went in early Feb, the main runs were in good shape and it appeared they even made snow the night before. You can tell that Boyne Highlands is a resort, you seem to encounter a lot of "not true skiers/snowboarders" on the hill and in the lift lines. To me the definite pro of the Highland is the length of the runs, they are long enough to give you the opportunity to work on your form (Kath and Amy are great for working on linking turns). Between Nubs and Highland I would have to say that Nubs is a "skiers" hill and has a better layout but the Highland has longer runs and is more "all inclusive".
