Boasting the highest vertical and most skier and rider accessible acreage in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, Boyne Highlands is known for its hospitality and family friendliness. The resort is home to an extensive trail system that provides terrain for all ability types.
The resort is host to a multitude of activities other than skiing and riding. Boyne Highlands offers guests tubing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and a zipline. The resort is known for being a year-round destination complete with an 18-hole golf course.
Boyne Falls (BFA) is a pilot friendly, fly-in destination. For those with private planes, BFA has a 5,200-foot paved and lighted jet strip, instrument approach landing available. No reservations needed, no landing fees required and no charge for parking. Tie-down space and fuel (Jet A fuel and 100 low lead) are also available.
Harbor Springs Airport (MGN) is owned by the city of Harbor Springs and is located in Little Traverse Township. The Harbor-Petoskey Area Airport Authority operates the airport under lease from the Harbor Springs.
Pellston Regional Airport (PLN) services Northwest Airlines, and is located just north of Pellston on US 31 in the heart of Emmet County. PLN is approximately 15 miles from Boyne Highlands airport.
Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) has direct flights offered by Northwest Airlines, Northwest Airlink, United Express, Delta or American Eagle to Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and seasonally to New York, Cincinnati, Denver and Atlanta. TVC can connect travelers to over 750 domestic and international destinations, and is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Boyne area.
From Chicago: Take I-90 through Indiana. Exit 21 to I-94 toward Detroit, entering Michigan. Exit 34 to merge onto I-196 E/US-31 N toward Grand Rapids/Holland. Exit 77A on the left to merge onto US-131 toward Cadillac. Continue on Bay View Rd./N US-31. Turn left at M119/MI-119. Turn right at S. Pleasantview Rd. Turn left at Highland Rd..
From Detroit/Flint/Saginaw: Take I-75 to Indian River. Exit 310 for MI-68 toward Indian River/Rogers City. Turn left at M68/MI-68. Turn left at Burr Ave./N US-31. Turn right at W. Conway Rd. Turn left at Clayton Rd. Turn right at M119/MI-119. Take the first right onto S. Pleasantview Rd. Turn left at Highland Rd.
From Sault Sainte Marie: Take I-75 to N US-31. Exit 336 toward Charlevoix/Petoskey. Turn right at E. Brutus Rd. Turn left at S. Pleasantview Rd. Turn right at Highland Rd.
