Wachusett is great for 1 reason ... I can ski it on the way home from work. So I can get some practice in, for a reasonable price on their season pass. I find that all the buses leave at 8PM, so all the kids leave and all of the sudden the hill and the lifts are wide open. So I grab a bite to eat, head to the hill, get there at 8 and ski for two hours. Any other time it is very crowded, but they do a great job with their learn to ski programs and nastar (I race on Tuesdays). And it sure beats working or watching TV. Then by the time the weekend rolls around I'm psyched to head north and hit the bigger resorts and my skiing chops are tight!
