Easy day trip from Boston, friendly place
Not very big, not very steep, not very challenging
We skied at Wachusetts -- our first visit there -- on New Year's Eve and had a divine day. Given all the other negative reviews, however, I have to wonder if our experience was an anomaly. The snow fell steadily all day long, so each run had a thick coat of fresh powder -- a good thing considering the icy base. My group (all three advanced/expert skiers; two adults and one teen racer) went with very low expectations but were very pleasantly surprised. No crowds, no lift lines, decent food, friendly people, good value for the money and proximity (<1.5 hours) to Boston. Granted, there is not much to challenge experts here, but the runs are long and varied enough for a good first workout of the season while daydreaming about the next trip to Utah.
