Ski Butternut is the best resort between CT and MA if you are not going to Vermont. It is accessible from both states, has a great terrain park (must purchase a pass for this), family resort, huge lodge if you are not skiing, good food (but pricey as usual for ski resorts), kept up well. One down point is that it does not have night skiing and closes at 4:00 daily. We usually only get to ski 4 hours by the time we get there, rent equipment, and get on the slopes. Good news is we are home early. Overall - a terrific resort. Prices are good, too. They have discount prices on 3-packs and season passes are very reasonable compared to any other resort around. I'll travel further to get there to save the extra dollars.
