Went to Butternut on Sat., Feb. 22nd with a group of friends and had a great time. There was a great mix of packed powder and man-made. The runs were extremely smooth. The only issue is that later in the day the runs that are in the shade tend to be somewhat icy (no fault of Butternut though). The staff did a great job of maintaining a good skiable area off the lifts. The lines for the lifts are managed very well which makes for a quick & efficient run. Most of the trails are very well groomed so you’ll have a smooth run. Definitely a better look for an intermediate type skier as the black diamond trails tend to be somewhat mediocre. Overall though, Butternut offers a great day run.
Didn’t eat at the lodge but overall it seems like the lodge is somewhat small for the number of people that were out on the slopes.
