Butternut is an overall great place to ski for the intermediate skier. It has 22 trails and they're maintained pretty well.
From beginner to aggressive skier, one can expect to get a nicely groomed moderately challenging trails.
The downside is that they often oversell lift tickets and the place is ridiculous. Highly stressful due to overcrowding, and not enough support staff to control things and make them more comfortable. Additionally, The lodge does not take credit cards, which is absolutely obnoctious! There is also not enough seating in either of the lodges when it's time to relax, and grab a bite to eat. They fail to recognize that, and/or do something about it. The staff is also often a bit crude and un-receptive to criticism.
They would benefit from remembering that the customer is always right attitude, and a bit of genuine sincerity when a problem occurs, like the inconvenience of a lift breaking down when tubing for example. They might be better off, if they
exchanged in abundance when a customer is not happy, rather than taking a "tit for tat" petty return or voucher scenerio....
Other than that, Its a good day skiing!
