Full review

As a ski racer, I am attracted to the steeper trails. I have had races at several of the smaller ski areas in Mass, like Berkshire East, Wachusett, Ascutney, and Nashoba. Nashoba may be very small and it does have short runs, but their two trails out in front of the lodge are by far the steepest race trails in Mass. After skiing at Nashoba, we investigated training there and are going to practice at Nashoba this winter. They also have a lot of beginner terrain so I'm sure it is a great place to learn, but we are primarily going there because they are the only place within hours of here that has steep trails. I think the other reviewers must be comparing Nashoba to the bigger mountains in Maine and Vermont, in which case they are absolutely right, its not that steep. But my friend's GPS compared Wachusett to Nashoba Valley and he claims the elevating gain over the run makes Nashoba the steepest slope he has skied in Mass.
