Inflexibility of group sales

We took a large group skiing and snow tubing and our experience was sub standard. Dealing with the group sales was lacking, and I suggest you look at other places before committing. The resort, slopes and tubing park was average, but the following made our experience unpleasant. Wisp requires 20 people for a group discount for skiing, and the same for tubing. We advertised the group discount price for both ski and tubing, knowing that our combined numbers would be at least in the high 30s. Most resorts work with you as long as the combined group numbers exceed the minimum of 20. This is smart on their part because they know that we cannot control what people will choose, skiing or tubing. We sold 27 tubing tickets and 13 ski tickets. All together that was 40 tickets. Once I gave my numbers to Wisp Resort Group Sales, they would not give us a group rate for the 13 ski people which put us in a bad position. We could not in good faith ask the people for more money after we advertised this price, and Wisp would not budge on giving us even a slight price break. This was VERY disappointing. When we arrived at Wisp resort, there was only one person working group sales desk. She was new, and it took over an hour to get through the line to receive our tickets. Not good. The biggest disappointment was the inflexibility of Wisp Resort in working with us. We will take our business elsewhere next time.
