I will start off by saying that I have been coming to mammoth for good 12+ years now. I agree that the snow conditions are horrible compared to the norm up here, but they are not the worst mammoth has seen and YES, mammoth is still rideable. Chair 8 had some great soft spots so did the mill. There are some spots with very scarce coverage but most of them are avoidable. Small rocks here and there but no major dings or gashes to my board. I had a great time riding mammoth and I'll continue to ride all week. #PrayForSnow

Nice in the morning. Typical spring skiing.
Mammoth is doing a good job of spreading out the snow that's there. There are a few patches of ice and exposed gravel rocks but it's doable. Bring your rock board or thrasher ski's.

I was very surprised how fun it was even with as little snow that has fallen. Other than getting yelled at by all the sloooooow SoCal wantabees we were ripping past, it was a great trip.

Amazing beautiful blue skies. Lifts 1,3,4,5,8,10,12,16, & gondola all with access to over 50 trails. Yes need more snow but they have done an unbelievable job with the 3-4 feet they have received. Stay on trails coverage is great and they are blowing more snow at night.

This is Stump Alley. Surface is machine groomed hard packed with a half-inch of granular powder. Trail coverage is excellent. Lots of runs to ski, I was surprised how good it is.

Skiing was great Monday and Tuesday. Lots of runs are open including three and five and solitude. Should be plenty of snow to ski on through the weekend. It is warming up a little bit but the trail coverage is very good to excellent.

Cornice opened today. All man made, but fun anyway. Icy entrance and softer once on run. Having top open definitely thinned out the crowd

Looks like this is the first actual report of the season! Skied opening day and Friday morning and it's awesome to be back on the hill! There's very few runs open, but what is open is solid. Mammoth's snow crew deserves a lot of credit.

What you'll get on the hill is super firm cord in the morning, bordering on ice up on Saddle Bowl. By 11, everything has softened up for some decent turns. Hint: Everyone's doing an early morning half day, so unless you have some deep desire to have first tracks, ski after noon and get the mountain to yourself.
