In my opinion the best skiing in the east. Conditions hold very well all winter. great variety of terrain with something for everyone. Love the old New England culture. A little off the beaten path, but worth it.
Due to location, snow conditions hold well all season
Very cold and windy in dead of winter

been a New Hampshire skier all my life until I found Sugarloaf in 1969 and never looked back. Its a long haul but worth the effort when you finally get there!

They are not enforcing their own COVID rules. Skeleton crew can barely be bothered to keep things running. Lifts are inadequate for a resort this size, and we were here when they were operating well below capacity. Not a well run resort at all. Needs a total face-lift, including refreshing and retraining the staff. Despite that, you still full prices as if this were an up yo date resort.
Decent size
Not run professionally!

This Covid 19 has disrupted Sugarloaf services. The top management is to blame as they have not conveyed accurate , updated information to their workers and have not instilled a demand for excellence from their workers but more a lackadaisical attitude. My main points The Mountain Adventure is meeting outside. Having skied for three seasons there I found no early direction signs of where they meet for the class until I finally found the only sign at the location itself. The liability form was told to be only available on line until we objected and sure enough they had them available in print.. Make more work for the customer is their motto. Get it online so we try and schedule the lessons for Mountain Adventure on line and it is no where to be found, only book now, not in the FAQ's. We will persist until we find their secret key. The 24 or is it 48 hours you have to schedule ahead for a lesson. Management does not care if the right hand does not know what the left hand knows or is doing. Tomorrow I will find out how to schedule a lesson on line. I did schedule two lessons on the phone after signing up for 15 Mountain ADVENTURE LESSONS BUT IT TOOK 30 MINUTES PLUS ON THE PHONE. Pick out some of your smarter, service oriented people and have them teach the others. You are not totally booked at the hotel yet there was no one to answer the phone. Improvement is needed. Great ski area
worse IT and service

Great mountain, good atmosphere, really outstanding mountain right after a snow storm. Top 1/3 of mountain is almost always fairly to very windy. The snow fields and surrounding trails are spooky steep with lots of exposure. Great mountain to get out of your comfort zone. Watch out for crazy drivers on the way up and back. Peace.
lots of varried terrain to choose from
car irde on roads that could use more maintenance

Sugarloaf is as close to being out West as you are going to get in the East. When everything is open, it skis big and has plenty of terrain to keep everyone happy. Front face, side country and backside provide a unique New England Experience. The vibe is another highlight. There's just something about the Loaf that is magical. Tough to put your finger on it, until you come here enough and you suddenly get it. Egos checked in at the door. Everyone is an equal. Blend right in. The ultimate escape from the rat race of the East Coast. Plenty of programs for kids and plenty of places to stay right on the mountain. Ultimately, though, a skiers' mountain.
Terrain and vibe
Remote, long drive

I loved skiing at sugarloaf resort! Always amazing skiing on beautiful trails! My children had excellent ski/ snowboard school instructors and both are extremely good now! They are also so nice and have a lot of fun with the kids! I love it all around learned there and still ski there! Some people have a hard time with such different conditions everyday but hey I look at it as knowing how to ski no matter where or the weather! As they say ski here u can ski anywhere!
Amazing skiing for all levels! Awesome staff!
